Plans for DSUA in Kansas City

The DSUA will be expanding its program for the fall meeting to include the use of dry scrubbing in waste to energy plants. One of the most versatile suppliers of dry scrubbers is Hitachi Zosen, which has installed wet scrubbers, dry scrubbers, and precipitators at many WTE plants around the world. The company has also introduced “Remon,” an Energy-from-Waste (EfW) plant operation data collection system. The data it collects is used for critical monitoring and management services for refuse incinerator plants. All of these tasks are performed remotely at a remote monitoring center in Hitachi Zosen’s head office in Osaka

Spray driers and circulating dry scrubbers are both being used in waste-to-energy plants. One of the considerations is the production of by-products. Some plants are recovering and selling hydrochloric acid and valuable metals.
