Camfil Farr’s Air Pollution Control Products Group manufactures and markets a full line of dust, fume and mist collection equipment. The group operates under the name of Farr Air Pollution Control (Farr APC). Camfil, originally only in the HVAC industry, acquired FARR APC, a manufacturer of OEM housing and filter elements, including cartridges, for air pollution. Within the company, the Camfil HVAC business is the larger segment.  Farr APC is headquartered in Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA.

Camfil Farr 2004 annual sales were over SEK 3 billion (US $413 M). Sales in Europe increased by 7 percent to SEK 1,679 M. The Central European region, where filters were delivered for a number of large cleanroom projects, accounted for most of the increase in sales.

In 2006, Camfil UK is building a new factory in Haslingden, Lancashire and moving the  manufacturing operations in Knowsley Park Way, York Avenue and Kings Road Birmingham to this one location.

Camfil Farr's line of cartridge dust and fume collectors include The Gold Series^® collector, which uses the Poly-Tech™ media, an advanced, silicone-impregnated polyester/cellulose media with excellent filtration efficiency and high humidity resistance. In most cases, it meets or exceeds the 5 mg per cubic meter emissions threshold (on non-hazardous dusts) required to recirculate air into the workplace. Its smooth surface offers dust release characteristics for more efficient cartridge cleaning.

The patented inner cone has a filter media area up to 450 ft² per cartridge. The Gold Cone design meets airflow requirements with a 25 percent smaller housing than a conventional cartridge collector while reducing can velocity, improving cleaning action and reducing pressure drop.

Camfil Farr also offers an ultra-high efficiency version (99.99 percent efficient on 0.5 micron and larger particles) for very stringent emission requirements such as those involving toxic dusts. Carbon impregnated and fire-retardant finishes are available for specialty applications, and a spun-bond media option is offered for use with hot, moist gas streams and sticky or difficult dusts.

The HemiPleat patent pending cartridge design uses synthetic beads to hold the pleats of the cartridge open with wide pleat spacing not found in competitive cartridges, which are packed too tightly to maximize media use. The wider spacing of the HemiPleat design exposes more media to the gas stream and results in lower pressure drop as well as improved cartridge release characteristics during pulse cleaning.
