Parker Hannifin’s profits nearly doubled compared to last year. The motion and control technologies manufacturer’s net sales in 2011 were 23.5 percent higher than 2010 and reflected higher volume in all segments with the largest increase occurring in the Industrial Segment. Operating margins as a percentage of sales improved to 14.8 percent from 11.4 perdcent year-over-year. Met-Pro’s earnings were flat but the company had a record second quarter for new order bookings. This company provides products for product recovery, pollution control, and fluid handling applications. Clarcor net income rose 41 percent. Donaldson was not far behind with a 36 percent gain. 3M acquired Cuno Filter in 2005 and Ligacon AG in 2008. Liquid filtration sales are 6 percent of the Industrial and Transportation segment.
