1000-MW Yuhuan No. 1 Begins Operation

The first Chinese-made unit of 1000 MW at Huaneng Yuhuan Power Plant (Zhejiang Province) began operation on November 28, 2006. Unit 2 is also 1000 MW and is still under construction. Units 3 and 4 with the same size are planned. All four units will employ supercritical boilers, low NO_x burner technology, and seawater desalination equipment for the water supply.
