Ahlstrom has made three filtration-related purchases in less than a month. In mid-January, The Helsinki-based company agreed to buy HRS Textiles, a Darlington, SC maker of specialty non-wovens serving mainly North American air and liquid filtration markets. The acquisition will strengthen Ahlstrom’s position in the air and liquid filtration markets in North America, particularly in the HVAC segment. It is expected to close before the end of the month, add approximately $20 million (€17 million) in sales to Ahlstrom’s Filtration business and include all assets of HRS in Darlington, SC.
