Pumps for Gas Shale Fracturing is Hot Topic Friday, June 11, 2010

The biggest new market for pumps is the shale gas industry.  The Marcellus shale deposit alone may require $100 billion investment in water and wastewater treatment equipment over the next 40 years.  Pumps are needed to inject many additives and sand along with 2 mgd of frac water per well.  Pennsylvania is processing 3000 well permits at the present time and is anticipating 20,000 wells.  Then there are lots of pumps needed to handle the flow back water.  It contains up to 200,000 ppm of salts, so there is lots of slurry handling.

You will have the opportunity to hear pump experts talk about the pump solutions for each of the applications in this 2-hour webinar beginning at 10 a.m. CDT on Friday, June 11.  We still have a potential speaking slot.  But, in any case, you will have a chance to ask questions and debate points made by others.

You have two options.  You can join this one session for just $50.  Alternatively, you can subscribe to the series which includes a recording of the webinars held last week where MWH described the water treatment needs and Aquatech described the zero liquid discharge alternative.  It includes the “Gulf Oil Spill” webinar being conducted today and the water quality monitoring during oil and gas production to be held Thursday, July 8th.  You will have access to the two future webinars plus recordings to all four.
