Millions of Cartridge Forecasts Can Be Used for Daily Decisions

The Cartridge Filters World Markets report has just been greatly expanded to include millions of forecasts for membrane, non-woven, stringwound, carbon and metal cartridges. The result is that you now have a tool for daily decisions as well as for long-range strategy. Equally important is its use as a corrective tool. If the daily user sees trends that are different from the forecasts then the global forecasts need to be reviewed.

BRIC is likely to have a GDP four times greater than the U.S. by 2050. The biggest market for semiconductor cartridges is in China, Taiwan and South Korea. There are daily decisions such as schedules for international sales personnel, reviewing distribution agreements, etc. which are based on certain assumptions about the market.  Should distributor X be given Vietnam or should we find a distributor just for the one country? Should distributor Y have nuclear power sales or should that be restricted for direct sales?

Previously, the report provided forecasts for each of five types of cartridges in 80 locales for 14 industries for the next five years, which are 28,000 forecasts. There were 13 queries which allowed you to view summary numbers, adding another 50,000 forecasts, so the total until now was 78,000. Here is what is new:

·        A new drop down screen changes the 13 standard queries to one where you can choose your own combination of cartridge type and industry for individual countries, sub regions, regions or worldwide. Many of our subscribers have requested this additional flexibility.  If you want to just look at non-woven cartridges for Southeast Asia by industry total you can now do it.

·        There are displays with production forecast statistics by industry and country. They show additions plus installed capacity.  For example, nuclear power is reported as MW of capacity and semiconductors show semiconductor equipment revenue and also chip revenue in $ millions. You can look at your previous orders for nuclear and semiconductor, derive a cost per production unit and predict your own forecasts for that country.

·        Instant forecasts using the production forecasts and even GDP and population are also available. You enter a known figure, e.g. U.S. in 2010, and the display shows all countries through 2015. Taking the example of whether the Thailand distributor should also be given Vietnam, you can enter your U.S. sales of non-woven cartridges for the pharmaceutical industry in 2010 in the instant forecast system. It immediately displays the projected Vietnamese pharmaceutical cartridge sales for 2010-15 based on the assumption of the same penetration rate in Vietnam as in the U.S.

As part of this expansion we are also supplying the subsidiary reports which if purchased separately cost thousands of dollars. This provides the background and the very specific forecasts, e.g. coal, nuclear and gas turbine MW by country, instead of just power cartridge revenues.

This expansion of the revenue forecasting is just one aspect of our initiative on ‘Knowledge Based Sales”. The goal is that both the supplier and the purchaser have comprehensive knowledge of the application at the time the discussion between the two begins.
