New Website Focused On Air Filter Manufacturing

Here is a development combining the best of the internet and streaming media audio/video to provide a unique new communication mode in one small area of filtration.  McIlvaine has created a website devoted to air filter manufacturing. Here is the link:  http://www.mcilvainecompany.com/airfiltmfg/subscriber/default.htm .

This website provides free information including access to streaming media video on the subject. This effort is made to help the filter purchaser understand aspects of manufacturing and delivery which affect performance, availability, and cost.  It is also designed to aid the filter manufacturer improve his production processes and quality control.

This site is devoted to only one aspect of air filtration.  It does not address the requirements of specific end users.  It does not address the performance of various media and filter designs, but only those aspects related to the production (once the design is fixed).

In the first few weeks a very large and useful amount of data has been posted.

The recorded webinars provide a unique way to access the latest information.   Much of the world’s best filtration information is in the powerpoint presentations on supplier lap tops.  Streaming media is the way to make that available to the mass audience.  McIlvaine has
conducted and recorded three sessions in the last week.  All three are available for you to view and hear.  One is on filters and two are on filtration machinery.

Yesterday, Paul Sennett of SPX Air Filtration provided valuable insights on gas turbine and
commercial HVAC filters plus details on the global activities of the filtration subsidiaries of
SPX.  It is remarkable that this presentation was made from Europe yesterday but recorded in the
U.S. and now made available to you the following day.

You will also be impressed with the quality of the presentations by all three companies.  Todd
Williams of Sheepscot, Scott Vollmer of GMD, and Paul displayed visually informative powerpoints and gave extremely articulate answers to questions we posed.

The analysis segments provide insights into each major aspect.  Through the “discussion” topics there is the opportunity for viewers to easily supply their opinions and links to papers or articles.  SO PLEASE PARTICIPATE BY PROVIDING YOUR SUCCESS STORIES.

This website is also a portal to the excellent information being generated by magazine publishers and to conferences and exhibitions on the subject.  Information from this site will be used in future feature articles by McIlvaine in these magazines and in a speech at the INDA filtration conference in November, 2007.

We welcome your comments and suggestions as we move forward to supply the filtration industry with the same comprehensive knowledge systems which have been so successful in the power industry.
