$5 billion Cartridge Residential and

commercial world market

Sales forecasts in the McIlvaine online Cartridge Filters: World Markets seemingly doubled overnight from $5 to $10 billion.   What happened was that the scope of the report was expanded to cover the residential and commercial market and this adds over $5 billion in revenues.   Here are the new totals with retrospective historical adjustments.

There are four new categories. They are residential point of use and residential point of entry; commercial point of use and commercial point of entry.

Much of the change with the expanded scope is in the market for carbon filters.

The lack of reliable municipal water supplies in developing countries has created a market which is disproportionately large in comparison to the GDP.  China and India will be among the top ten purchasers of carbon filters in 2008.
