ChromElso from Industeel for Pressure Equipment in High Temperature Hydrogen Service
CromElso is specially designed for the construction of pressure equipment such as hydrotreating reactors and exchangers operating in hydrogen service at high temperatures. It is manufactured in an electric arc furnace using a process that includes desulfurization, dephosphorization, ladle refining and vacuum degassing to provide a reproducible, clean and homogeneous steel. The use of special steelmaking techniques with extra-low phosphorus levels gives CromElso® improved resistance to temper embrittlement as well as excellent low temperature impact toughness properties. CromElso® is available in plate up to very high thickness and can also be provided in half-shells and mono- or multi-piece heads. Alloyed martensitic 9% Cr grades (CromElso® 91 & CromElso® 92) offer high temperature creep resistance and are available for the construction of high pressure high temperature pipes, as well as for pressure vessels for power generation (thermal, nuclear...).
