Flygt Submersible Slurry Pumps Used in Canadian Power Plant
Flygt slurry pumps replace old pumps at Nanticoke GS, a coal-fired generating plant located on the shores of Lake Erie and owned by Ontario Power Generation. Two Flygt submersible HS 5550 abrasion resistant slurry pumps with a capacity of 240 l/s were purchased to pump water containing ash. They were placed in the bottom ash sump. The plant had another Flygt pump that moved water containing coal particles from the coal storage runoff ditches on site.
