Solar Game Plan for Industeel as of June 7, 2011

Here are 26 companies who should be contacted. It would take 50 to100 hours to put together an analysis based on research and 60 or 70 phone calls. So before I assign Joe to this, we should review the game plan. First of all . Are you already contacting these companies such as American Tank and Vessel. Second is this whole subject a high priority?

Alfa Lava to Supply Heat Exchangers for Largest Concentrated Solar Power Plant

Alfa Laval has received an order in the US to provide Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers to the world’s largest concentrated solar power plant. The order value is substantial and well in line with the largest reported over the past 12 months. Delivery is scheduled for 2012. “We are very proud to be part of such a ground-breaking project in the important area of renewable energy”, says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group. “It is a unique order in many ways; it includes a unique product and will to be used in the world’s largest solar power plant.” The Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers, specifically developed for this application, will be the heart of the thermal storage system where heat from solar power is stored in molten salt, thereby enabling electricity production even on rainy days or at night. The solution will allow the plant to operate for additional 6 hours on stored energy, i.e. from 12 to 18 hours – an increase of about 50 percent over normal daytime solar power production, which better matches the demands from the local power consumers. This is the biggest solar power order so far for Alfa Laval, who has developed solutions for solar power pilot plants during several years and has today a number of references from countries in the world’s solar belt. Solar Receiver for Concentrated Solar Designed and Installed by B&W

In 2008, Babcock & Wilcox PowerGeneration Group, Inc. (B&W PGG) was awarded a contract to designand manufacture a solar receiver to harness the sun’s energy to produce superheated steam to generate “green” electricity. In August 2009, Babcock & Wilcox Construction Co., Inc. (BWCC) installed the 50 ton (45,000 kg) receiver atop a 150 foot (46 m) high stand-alone tower. Because BWCC is a wholly owned subsidiary of B&W PGG, the material design and manufacturing supply were fully integrated into BWCC’s final installation plan. This close working relationship enabled the team to safely raise the solar receiver to its final position in less than six hours. Pictures and details are displayed on the B&W website
