Present work, business and personal history: Finbar Hughes started his career with Sulzer in 1996 with Sulzer Pumps in Leeds, initially completing a four year mechanical apprenticeship program, then working as a production technician, which involved the assembly of high energy centrifugal pumps. Finbar then progressed to be a service engineer, which consisted of onsite repair and commissioning of centrifugal pumps. Then a move back to Leeds to take up a role as a test technician, Setting up and testing of centrifugal pumps in accordance with international and customer codes. After which Finbar was placed in the role as Technical Focal Point for Chevron working for Sulzer Wood in Aberdeen, this role consisted of being implanted in the Chevron office in Aberdeen and being responsible for the maintenance, reliability and integrity of all their pumping equipment on their 3 assets in the north sea. In 2011, Finbar joined Sulzer Metco as the Technical Sales Engineer for North America. Finbar gained an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bradford in 2009.
