Winn Butterfly Valves for Condensate Polishing at Chinese Gas Turbine Plant
With the availability of water determining the potential for
power station development in China, Winn Hi-Seal high performance butterfly
valves from Pentair are helping to satisfy the country's growing demand for
electricity. Christ-Kennicott Water Technology Ltd lent its expertise to the
project, supplying the equipment that removes potentially harmful contaminants
from the water used in the thermal gas turbine plants.
Christ-Kennicott
provided condensate polishing systems to two thermal gas turbine power stations
- the
600MW Tuoketuo site and the
900MW Waigaogiao plant – and in both cases Winn butterfly valves were
chosen as standard. At Tuoketuo, Christ-Kennicott supplied Winn Hi-Seal high
performance butterfly valves equipped with either Keystone pneumatic actuators,
in the case of the smaller valves, or Biffi pneumatic actuators for larger
valves. At Waigaogiao a range of actuated Winn Hi-Seal high performance
butterfly valves was again used.
Durability and ease
of servicing were important factors in the specification and Winn Hi-Seal high
performance butterfly valves provide efficient, bi-directional sealing across a
wide spectrum of service conditions.
