"Ceramic Filters for Use in Waste Incineration Plants"
by Ruedi Frey,
Felix Koller and Thomas Hilligardt. BWF Textil GmbH & Co., Offingen, Germany. 4
p.
Based on a patent taken out by BWF, Offingen, the Von Roll Inova company in
Zurich started work as far back as several years ago on the development of a
process whereby the separation of dust and of nitric oxides would be integrated
in one single stage. As a result of the outstanding temperature stability of
ceramic filter candles and the similarity of the ceramic fibers to the basic
material in catalyzer elements, the concept of the katfilter Pyrotex® KeKat 85
already in use, this now being refurbished with catalytically active substances.
This concept combines the advantages of a highly efficient filter medium for the
separation of dust with those of a solid state catalyzer for cleaning toxic gas.
