Coronavirus Mask
Decisions
CMD will be Reincorporated into
CTS
In March of last year we
initiated Coronavirus
Technology Solutions with
comprehensive coverage of HVAC,
filters, masks, and monitoring.
In July we took the additional
step of excerpting portions of
this service covering masks
to make it freely
accessible. The goal was to
convince people that
Comfortable, Attractive, Tight
Fitting Efficient masks were one
of the most important weapons in
vanquishing COVID.
Most people are now aware of the
importance of effective masks.
Our focus is back to the
traditional role of helping
suppliers and consultants with
market forecasting and strategic
consulting.
We will continue to include
information on masks in the
daily Coronavirus Technology
Solutions Alerts.
So the coverage will not
diminish
but will be part of a
subscription.
Masks will continue to represent
the largest filtration
opportunity for the near term
generating revenues in excess of
$100 billion.
Longer term the market
will continue to be larger than
other filter markets even if
drops back substantially.
Masks will continue to make the
biggest contribution to safe
bubbles. A facility at 90%
occupancy can be made as safe as
one presently operating at 25%
occupancy.
The most cost effective
measure is more efficient masks.
Room air filters, ventilation
and other technologies are not
as important.
There are a number of
issues of importance
which need to be resolved.
·
If surgical masks without braces
are inefficient for public
protection, why are they
recommended for medical workers.
·
How do you measure fit for
specific individuals or at least
have some qualitative guidance?
·
Will we eventually have two
markets: surgical masks with
braces for the lower income
group and CATER masks for the
higher income group.
·
Should the U.S. offer vouchers
to poor countries as mask demand
in the U.S. starts to subside.
·
How do you assess mask life? Is
it based on user hours times
viral load times ambient
particulate (In wildfire season
the ambient particulate will be
the biggest factor)?
·
Will the purchases of most masks
be done by large groups and
individual members of those
groups?
If a business requires
employees to wear a certain mask
brand it is likely that the
families will also wear that
brand.
·
The immediate effective mask
market is three times larger
than the medical market. So how
do we make enough masks to meet
the demand?
We will provide you with
periodic mask insights.
